Editorial Policy
Last updated: April 17, 2026
Recovery Begins is committed to providing accurate, up-to-date information about addiction treatment in Canada. This editorial policy outlines how we create, review, and maintain our content.
Our Editorial Standards
All health and treatment-related content published on Recovery Begins is written and reviewed by qualified professionals with direct experience in addiction treatment and recovery services. We follow evidence-based guidelines and cite reputable sources including Health Canada, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA), and peer-reviewed research.
Who Reviews Our Content
Our resources are reviewed by Michael Leach, CCMA (Certified Canadian Medical Affairs), who has nearly a decade of experience in addiction treatment and recovery services. Michael is ISSUP (International Society of Substance Use Professionals) certified and has lived experience in recovery.
How We Verify Treatment Centre Listings
Each treatment centre listed in our directory is verified against publicly available information and cross-referenced with provincial licensing databases. We source data from trusted Canadian directories and update listings regularly. Centres can claim their listing at any time to ensure accuracy.
Update Frequency
Resource articles are reviewed at minimum annually, or when significant changes occur in treatment guidelines or regulations. Centre listings are updated as new information becomes available. All pages display a last-reviewed or last-updated date.
Corrections Policy
We welcome corrections. If you find inaccurate information, please contact us at communications@rehab-center.com or use the report link on any centre page. We aim to address corrections within 5 business days.
Independence
Recovery Begins is an independent directory. We do not accept payment for listings or rankings. Treatment centres are listed based on public information and availability, not commercial relationships.
