About

Union Gospel Mission Winnipeg is a faith-based non-profit organization serving individuals dealing with addiction, homelessness, and poverty in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Located at 320 Princess Street in the heart of the city, UGM Winnipeg is committed to the restoration and transformation of lives through the Gospel — offering residential addiction recovery, outpatient support, counselling, and a range of street and community ministries. Certified by the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities and CN Mission Welcome, UGM Winnipeg has been a trusted presence in the Winnipeg community for decades.

Residential Addiction Recovery Program

UGM Winnipeg’s residential recovery program provides men and women with a structured, faith-centred environment where healing from addiction can begin. The program addresses substance use — including alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioids — alongside the spiritual and relational dimensions of recovery that are often at the root of addictive patterns. Christian counselling and chaplaincy services provide individualized support, while the community of recovery at the Mission provides the belonging and accountability that sustain long-term change.

Sober Living and Outpatient Support

For individuals who are further along in their recovery journey, UGM Winnipeg offers sober living support and outpatient programming that allows continued growth and accountability while transitioning back into community life. Aftercare services maintain the connection to the recovery community and provide practical support for the challenges that arise in early independent living. The Mission’s “Biblically-based, Gospel-oriented” approach ensures that spiritual formation and practical support remain intertwined throughout every stage of recovery.

Street Ministry and Community Outreach

Union Gospel Mission Winnipeg extends its reach beyond the walls of the facility through active street ministry and community outreach. Addiction support, food and clothing assistance, educational resources, and connections to other community services are available to individuals who are not yet ready for or engaged in formal treatment. This outreach reflects UGM’s conviction that love and practical service are inseparable — and that reaching people where they are is the first step in any genuine journey of transformation.
