Southern Alcare Manor (SAM) is a residential addiction recovery centre in Lethbridge, Alberta, offering a structured three-month abstinence-based program for individuals seeking lasting freedom from alcohol and drug dependence. Operating from a peer-centred philosophy — many of its staff and leadership achieved their own sobriety at SAM — the facility provides an environment of genuine understanding and lived experience. Structured Three-Month Residential Program

Southern Alcare Manor’s program is built around a progressive three-month model. During the first month, residents remain on-site, focusing entirely on stabilization, healing, and laying the foundation for recovery. In the second and third months, clients are encouraged to re-engage with the outside world by pursuing employment, vocational training, or education — building the practical life skills and routines that support long-term sobriety. Prior to admission, a 5–10 day detox is required to ensure clients are medically stable and ready to engage with the program.

Practical Re-Integration Support

Job placement and career re-entry assistance helps residents re-establish financial independence, while staff can assist with government benefit and support applications.
