Robert Simard Centre is a voluntary social detoxification unit in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, operated by the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Opened in 2007 as part of provincial Project Hope initiatives to expand addiction services in northern Saskatchewan, the centre provides a medically supervised, supportive environment for adults seeking help with alcohol and substance withdrawal in the Meadow Lake and northwest Saskatchewan region.

Social Detoxification Services

Robert Simard Centre offers social detoxification for adults who are medically stable and are 24 or more hours past their last substance use, providing a safe and supervised withdrawal environment for individuals dealing with alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, and opioid dependencies. The typical program length is 7 to 10 days, giving clients the stability and support they need to safely complete withdrawal as the first step in their recovery journey.

Voluntary and Commitment-Centred

Admission to Robert Simard Centre is entirely voluntary and requires a genuine commitment to quitting substance use. This model ensures that clients are motivated and ready to engage with the detox process, creating a more supportive and productive environment for all residents. Mental health and outpatient services are available to support clients’ broader recovery needs during and after their detox stay.
