Phoenix Centre

The Phoenix Centre — now operating as Day One Society — is a community-based addiction services organization located at 922 3rd Avenue in Kamloops, British Columbia, on the traditional territory of Tk’emlups te Secwepemc. Operating for over 50 years, Day One Society provides detoxification services, outpatient counselling, youth alcohol and drug services, and transitional living support for individuals in Kamloops and the Thompson-Nicola region. Grounded in the belief that each person has the ability to change and accept personal responsibility for their own physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health, Day One offers compassionate, accessible support at every stage of the recovery journey.

Detoxification Program

Day One Society operates the Phoenix Centre detoxification facility, providing medically supervised withdrawal support for individuals dealing with alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, opioid, and benzodiazepine dependency. Detox is the critical first step in the recovery process, and Day One’s team provides safe, professional care through the withdrawal process while connecting clients with the next appropriate level of treatment. The detox program serves as a gateway to the broader continuum of addiction recovery services available through Day One and its community partners.

Youth Counselling and Family Support

Day One Society’s youth alcohol and drug counselling program provides specialized outpatient support for young people in Kamloops navigating substance use.
