Onen'tó:kon Healing Lodge

Onen’tó:kon Healing Lodge is a residential Indigenous addiction treatment centre located on Kanehsatake Mohawk Territory near Oka, Quebec, overlooking the Lake of Two Mountains. The name Onen’tó:kon means “Under the Pines” — a reflection of the lodge’s setting among century-old pine trees and its rootedness in the natural and cultural landscape of the Kanehsatake community. The facility provides 16-bed residential treatment for Indigenous men and women 18 years and older dealing with drug and alcohol addictions.

Trauma-Focused, Culture-Based Programming

Onen’tó:kon’s six-week residential program is grounded in a trauma-focused, culturally based approach that integrates traditional Indigenous healing practices alongside one-to-one clinical work with clients. Traditional practices of healing are woven throughout the program, ensuring that clients can address the roots of their addiction within a framework that honours their identity, history, and cultural traditions.

The lodge’s peaceful setting within the Kanehsatake Mohawk Territory — nestled among old-growth pines with views of the Lake of Two Mountains — provides a restorative and grounding environment for deep healing work. The residential model creates a structured, community-centred experience that supports clients in focusing fully on their recovery, free from the distractions and triggers of everyday life.

Guided by the mission statement “Strengthening the Healing Journey,” Onen’tó:kon has supported many clients and their families through the recovery process. The lodge believes that addiction is a disease that can be treated — and that Indigenous individuals dealing with drug and alcohol dependency deserve an environment where their illness is understood and their healing is the priority. Admissions are completed through an application process; intake schedules and application forms are available directly through the lodge.
