Nimkee Nupi Gawagan Healing Centre

Nimkee NupiGawagan Healing Centre (NNHC) is an Indigenous youth addiction treatment centre located in Muncey, Ontario, guided by the Seven Grandfather Teachings and the Medicine Wheel. With deep respect, humility, and compassion, NNHC is committed to empowering Indigenous youth, families, and communities through culturally based holistic treatment and recovery services.

Youth-Centred Indigenous Treatment

NNHC serves Indigenous youth who are struggling with substance misuse, providing inpatient residential treatment that integrates traditional cultural teachings with evidence-informed clinical care. The program operates through gender blocks, with each intake alternating between male and female youth to provide a focused, safe healing environment.

Medicine Wheel and Seven Grandfather Teachings

Programming addresses the four dimensions of wellness — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual — guided by the Medicine Wheel, an ancient tool for understanding balance and healing. The Seven Grandfather Teachings of love, respect, courage, honesty, wisdom, humility, and truth form the ethical foundation of all programming at NNHC.

Family and Community Involvement

NNHC recognizes that healing youth requires healing families and communities. The centre collaborates with community partners and engages family members in the recovery process, providing a continuum of support that extends beyond the residential program into home communities.
