Ngwaagan Gamig Recovery Centre Inc. (Rainbow Lodge)

Ngwaagan Gamig Recovery Centre (Rainbow Lodge) is an Indigenous residential addiction treatment centre located in Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. Rooted in Anishinaabe culture and the traditions of Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve, the centre provides holistic, culturally grounded treatment for individuals seeking recovery from alcohol and substance use disorders.

Cultural and Holistic Treatment

Ngwaagan Gamig integrates Anishinaabe cultural practices — including Elder guidance, ceremony, traditional teachings, and land-based healing — with evidence-informed addiction treatment. The centre addresses alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioid addictions through inpatient residential programming that honours the whole person in body, mind, and spirit.

Inpatient and Outpatient Programs

The centre offers both residential inpatient and community-based outpatient services, allowing individuals to access the level of care appropriate to their needs. Outpatient programming supports ongoing recovery for community members who have completed residential treatment or who are not yet ready for a full residential admission.
