iRecover Alberta is a CARF-certified residential addiction treatment centre located in the rural community of Tees, Alberta — offering an immersive, distraction-free environment for individuals ready to make a lasting change. The facility provides medically supervised detox, inpatient residential treatment, and a lifetime aftercare program. With no physician referral required, 24/7 intake availability, and free transportation for clients within 1,000 miles (by vehicle or plane), iRecover removes the barriers that often stand between someone and the help they need.

Medically Supervised Detox and Inpatient Treatment

Treatment begins with medically supervised detox, tailored to the substance and severity of each client’s addiction. Detox timelines range from 24–36 hours for some substances to seven days or more for opioids and illicit drugs. Clients then move into a residential treatment program — ranging from four weeks to several months — that combines behavioural therapy, individual counselling, group sessions, and psychiatric support. Psychiatrist Dr. Avininder Aulakh provides on-site care, and many staff members bring their own lived experience of recovery to the team.

Wide Range of Substances Treated

iRecover Alberta is equipped to treat addiction to alcohol, opioids (including fentanyl and heroin), methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepines, cannabis, and prescription drugs. Co-occurring addictions and concurrent substance use are addressed within the same program. The facility recognizes that mental health and addiction are deeply connected, and treatment addresses both dimensions of a client’s wellbeing.
