Fraser House Society

Fraser House Society is a community-based outpatient addiction counselling organization in Mission, British Columbia, offering accessible, barrier-free services for adults, youth, and families in the Fraser Valley. Located at 33063 4th Avenue, the society provides a warm, inclusive environment where people are welcomed with respect and can engage with support at their own pace. With programs spanning individual counselling, youth and family services, school-based prevention, rural outreach, and community support groups, Fraser House serves as a trusted local resource for Mission and the surrounding region.

Adult Addiction Counselling

Fraser House provides confidential one-on-one substance use counselling for adults dealing with alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioid addiction. The outpatient model allows clients to receive professional support while maintaining their daily lives — a critical feature for working adults, parents, and people with caregiving responsibilities. Counsellors work collaboratively with clients to understand the role substances play in their lives, develop practical recovery strategies, and connect them with additional resources such as detox programs and residential treatment when needed.

Youth, Family, and Prevention Services

Fraser House extends its reach to young people aged 12–24 through dedicated youth and family counselling, school-based prevention programming, and early intervention services. The society works with schools in the Mission area to identify and support young people who may be developing problematic relationships with substances — intervening early before patterns become entrenched. Family and couples counselling helps the people who love someone struggling with addiction to heal, set healthy boundaries, and build the supportive home environment that recovery requires.

Rural Outreach and Community Connections

The Rural Connections Program brings addiction counselling and support to the Deroche to Lake Errock corridor — rural communities that might otherwise lack access to local services. Community outreach counselling further extends the society’s reach, meeting people in the community rather than requiring them to come to an office. For Indigenous community members, services are delivered with awareness of the unceded territories and the particular histories and strengths of First Nations peoples in the region. Support groups complement individual counselling, building the peer community that sustains recovery over the long term.
