Marijuana

marijuana bluntMarijuana comes from the leaves or flowering part of the hemp plant.  It is one of the most widely abused addictive drugs in North America.  Marijuana is usually consumed by smoking it using a pipe, or rolled into a cigarette paper.  Marijuana can also be used by eating it, or brewing it in tea.  The average marijuana supply contains 400 chemicals, THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) being the active ingredient.  Marijuana has a distinct almost skunk like odor.

When Marijuana is used it has many effects including increased pleasure, concentration, sensory and time perception.  Marijuana is addictive physically, and creates compulsive drug seeking behavior that effects all areas of ones life including education, family, friends, and general responsibilities.

Marijuana typically has a short-term effect lasting 2-3 hours but the chemicals of the drug itself stay in the body.  THC is fat-soluble and stores in the fatty tissues in the body including liver, lungs and other organs.  There are certain Rehab Centers that specialize in the cleaning of the fatty tissues to eliminate these toxins. There are many other ways marijuana impacts a person’s life, sometimes without them even knowing it.

There are great Rehab centers that handle marijuana addiction specifically through programs designed to handle all aspects of the addiction, not just one or the other.  We have a database of Rehab Centers that we can share with you that deal with marijuana addiction; our staff is available to take your call.
